Bobbi Bennett-Wolcott
For Congress

Bringing people together

withdraw

After a lot of thought and consideration and many conversations with campaign advisors and community members, I’m announcing my withdrawal from the race.

This has not been an easy decision, but I believe it is the right one and is in the best interests of our district.

This is such a pivotal election, particularly for Eastern Washington democrats who have a real opportunity to tangibly shift policy after almost 30 years of republican leadership. This campaign has afforded me the opportunity to participate in robust civil discourse, and I am so grateful for the informative discussions that I’ve had with constituents across our district and likewise, have been encouraged by the investment in community I’ve seen in my fellow democratic candidates.

With this being said, I believe that now is the time for unity, and alongside my withdrawal I am proud to endorse Dr. Bernadine Bank’s campaign. As a fellow women’s health practitioner and advocate for veteran resources, we have had the chance to discover our many commonalities over the course of our campaigning. More than our shared passion for supporting women, veterans, and rural communities, I’m endorsing Bernadine because of the authentic, meticulous, and considerate approach to public service I’ve witnessed in her campaign.

Thank you to those of you who have supported my campaign over the past several months, and to the many constituents who have taken the time to share their thoughts and concerns with me. I am honored to continue to serve the people of our district as a women’s health professional community member, and Whitman County democrat.

Vision Statement:
Cultivating a thriving and healthy Eastern Washington rooted in its rich history and working towards a prosperous future.

I am so fatigued by the partisan nature of our political system. Let’s work together to bring open, honest communication and strategic planning back to the table.

Bobbi's Mission and Focus

I am not a politician.

I am a wife, mother, grandmother, and nurse. I am also a lifelong resident of Eastern
Washington. My formative years were spent as an orchardist’s daughter in Okanogan.
Witnessing the enormous care my father put into his work as a fruit tree farmer helped me
develop a strong work ethic at a young age. My parents fundamentally differed in their political
views and actively modeled what civil discourse and healthy debate looked like. I married
in1993 and left the nursing profession for a time to stay home with our three children.

My husband, also an RN, was deployed to Iraq for active duty, and I soon re-entered the
workforce as a birth doula and returned to school to earn my nurse-midwifery degree. I worked
in Pullman, Washington at a local clinic for approximately five years providing midwifery and
women’s health services as well as primary care for women, while pursuing my Doctor of
Nursing Practice (DNP) degree. I am currently employed by WSU as a clinical assistant
professor, working with their DNP scholars, and am the proud grandmother of two
grandchildren.

I am a survivor of domestic violence, having endured intimate partner violence in a previous
relationship. Largely because of this experience, I am continually drawn to advocating for the
safety and health of vulnerable communities. In addition to my continued work in women’s
health, for over a decade my husband and I have actively supported organizations like Planned Parenthood and Alternatives to Violence of the Palouse.

I am an advocate and peacemaker. My mission in running for this office is to bring open, honest
communication and problem-solving to the table. Our district and our country are facing many
complex issues that require our communities to work together. As I continue to meet with folks
across our district and discover what’s important to you, I’m reminded of our many
commonalities, including pride in our beautiful farmlands and an honest desire to help one
another.

Let’s talk. I am confident if we work together, we can find solutions to issues that affect all
District 5 constituents.
